FNDR 1-11-12 The Manicotti Nazi is in Oklahoma

View from the back of the bike!!!
Diana told me about an Italian Restaurant on the south side of Oklahoma City, so why not try it.  Heck we are always game to eat some place new.  Her friend Donna (Mama Donna) had told her about it, so looks like that is our destination for our Friday Night Dinner Ride.

Looking back to the North

The weather has been crazy lately.  We have very cold days, and snow, and then we have days like today.  Not very many of them, but we have a perfect day to ride to eat tonight.  The temp. is in the 60's.  Now don't get me wrong, its not "perfect".....we have some gale force winds, but by the time we head out, they have actually laid down some.  The winds had blown to 40mph today...not good!!!

We head towards the south side of the City around 5:30.  The evening traffic has calmed down some.  The highways weren't that busy, but of course we are going against the traffic.  Most people are trying to get out of the City, and we are heading back in.

We get to the restaurant at 6:25 and looks like we are the last ones to get there...and we are the only ones that rode.  Wasn't too excited to ride this evening, but I have to say it was a really nice evening to get on the bike.  The sunset was beautiful.  Of course I had to take a pic of it.  We really do have some great sunsets here in Oklahoma.  :)

Diana mentioned when she called to reserve the table that the lady was a bit abrupt.  We saw it in person, and we both decided it was just her nature.  Not meaning to be mean, but she was just a woman on a mission.  The food came out pretty well, until it came to Allen & Doreens manicotti.  The lady came into the room and ask if they weren't eating....well, they thought they were!!!! Come to find out the kitchen had made a mistake and their manicotti hadn't been made.  It took quite a while to get it, but all worked out.

Manicotti, Finally!!!

During this wait, I decided the lady we were talking about was just like the "Soup Nazi" on Seinfeld.  Yep, she was...only she was the Manicotti Nazi!!!  Oh did we take that for a spin...we all laughed quite a bit about that.

The food, oh yeah, the food.....It was good....lots of it....way too much.  Since we were on the bike, no leftovers were going home with us, so Tom was the lucky guy that took all ours, and Diana's left overs home.  Heck, as much food as we got, they could eat for day on!!!  We had a count of 11 tonight.  The room the Manicotti Nazi prepared for us was great....we were in there by ourselves, so we could laugh and cut up without bothering any one else.

The ride to Taco Cabana was really nice.  The temp is still comfortable.  As we headed home about 10:30 the wind has switched to the North, and looks like this day of Spring is over.  We have a cold front due in tomorrow and they are calling for some light freezing rain  :(  Oh Winter, you can go away anytime...we have had enough of you.

PS...The lady the manages the Taco Cabana starts filling 4 cups of Margarita's when she sees us walk in...Are we a "regular" or what!!!  Good margaritas...that's all I can say!

  1. I really wasn't excited about riding tonight either, but once we got on and started riding the evening was really enjoyable. Food was really good and way to much to eat. As always Margaritas were good, or maybe the company that we keep makes them good!
