Well Well Well it’s July 2019

Well, well, well.....I know, that is a deep subject.
Our well at the house has decided to stop working.
Of course you have to start the process of elimination to determine what is wrong.
The bladder in the blue thing (pressure tank)LOL has decided to go out.
The pressure switch is out.
The control box is out.
Looks like we have had a catastrophic event at this point.
We pull the pump but because everything else is not working, there is no way to check the pump to see if we have power.
So little by little, Chuck works at replacing all the obvious things that have crapped out.
Once that is all done, we pull the pump, and guess what.....it has also taken a direct hit and is dead also!

We are guessing it was just a chain of events that managed to basically ruin everything this time.
Usually you can change out a control box and or a pressure switch and all is good.
Not this time.
Looking on the bright side, we have a new well system! Luckily, Chuck can fix just about anything.
Isn't retirement exciting!

I have been working on getting a garage sale put together.
The one nice thing about having a barn to do this in is that I can work on it and close the doors and start again the next day.
It has been quite warm so I don't work in the barn until later in the day.
I have been piling up stuff in the garage so now it gets moved to the barn and hopefully out of my hair!
I decided to clean out my costume jewelry and let me tell you, I had an over abundance of earrings.
Ones I have never worn, and had no intention of wearing.
I went through the mess and paired up the earrings and placed them on index cards.
After all was said and done, I had over 120 pair of earrings.....WHAT!!!!!

July 4th was quiet for us as we hung around the house.

Our kids are on vacation in New York City and are going over to Canada for a visit to Niagara Falls.

Looks like they are having quite a vacation!

July 6th, Lynn and Keith invited us to meet up with them, along with Doreen and Allen at Riverwind Casino for their Bites & Beats night.
It was a nice get together along with quite a few other people.

We even got to watch a very nice fireworks display put on by the Casino.
What a fun evening we had....so glad we went.

Cooper had told me about wanting to make a memory book for her mom and day for their 15th Wedding Anniversary that is coming up on July 10th, so I have been digging up old pictures and things for her to use.
She has pinned some ideas on Pinterest, so now we have to work on getting it put together.
Cooper and I spent a few hours working on the project and I think she is very proud of her creation.
Now we have to get it to her house, so she can surprise them on their anniversary.
From what I was told, they loved it and all her efforts to make their day special.

July 12th is Anthony's birthday.
We make our way to Norman and have dinner at Louie's and then back to their house to open presents and have some celebratory birthday cake.

Not sure how this son of mine is 37 yrs old, but he is....now that doesn't mean I am getting old, or does it!
Happy Birthday Anthony...you are my favorite son...oh but wait....you are my only son!!!

July19th....Garage Sale Day!
Guess what....one of the hottest days we have had this year!
Mother and Cooper came out to help me.

We had a great group of people come out and buy our stuff.
Cooper and her mom made Joanna Gaines Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Cooper bagged 3 per bag....she sold every last one of them.
Who couldn't resist buying cookies from this sweet girl!

I have to say the garage sale was pretty darn successful....but I took it a step further.
I listed some of the items that didn't sell on Marketplace, and am happy to say that they sold.
Little by little I am getting rid of stuff that we no longer need.
Love the feeling of cleaning out!

Cleaning out the barn from the left over garage sale stuff was so much fun....not!
It is all done and once again storing the items we use quite a bit.

July 26th we added another "toy" to our fleet.
We got a 2015 RZR 2 seater.
This cute thing that I have named "Bandit" will be going to Arizona with us in the fall.
Looking forward to doing some exploring in the mountains around us.

Riding with Diana & Chris on their land

Our neighbors there in Yuma go out about once a week with their RZR and we are looking forward to the adventures that await us.

We did take Bandit to our friends house and rode on their land to just get a feel of how it was going to handle.
Thanks Diana & Chris for the invite.

One last thing that I attempted this month was to catch the armadillo that is digging up our yard and our next door neighbors yard.
Our neighbor said that the best way to get rid of them is to put down granules that will kill their food source.
We know they love the grubs....so both of us put granules down.
My new neighbor on the south was nice enough to let me borrow a trap.
I read on the Internet (so you know its true) to make a trail for the armadillo to follow as they have bad eyesight and will bump into it and this will guide them to the trap.
Another neighbor said he hoped I didn't trap a skunk!!!!
WHAT!!!!!!  I hadn't even thought about what else I might trap.....
I am happy to say that I actually caught nothing!
Wait.....wasn't that the idea, to catch the guy that is tearing up our yard.
After the thought of catching another varmint I wasn't too excited about the trap idea.

I end July without a successful trapping, but I am happy to say that it looks like the granules have done their trick as we no longer have the digging in our yard.

We have survived the extreme heat of July and look forward to August in hopes that it cools down some.
Closing the book on July here in Oklahoma.
