September 2019

September is busy around the house as we prepare to set sails in Arizona at the end of the month.

I got to have lunch with a couple of my grade school friends, Vicki, and Beverly this month.
Vicki and I reconnected on FB and had talked about getting together for lunch, so we made it happen, and also was excited to see Beverly could join us as well.
Amazing how a person can reconnect in a very short time even though there have been so many years to fill in.

Before we leave Oklahoma we have to make a quick visit to the Oklahoma State Fair and get a corn dog!

Our barn has a new floor in it before we leave as well.
The old rock was really in need of some attention and the guy that seals our asphalt suggested a "chip and seal" method.
It was interesting to watch them get the area prepped and equally as interesting to actually see the process of putting the product down.
I think the Taj-Mah-Hauler is going to like the ground she will be parking on after this is finished.

Reflecting on Arizona I was amazed that we have been making this trip for 5yrs now.
This season is especially exciting as we have property to go to.
Property to add our personal touch to.
Neighbors that are so much fun.
But most of all we have "NO" Co-op  ever changing rules to deal with.

We have purchased a RZR and it is making its maiden voyage this season as well.
The RZR will go in the Taj-Mah-Hauler and Big Bertha will make the journey possible.

Chuck is actually the one that makes this all possible but we couldn’t do it without our trusty Big Bertha.
I am going to drive the Jeep and pull the 12’ trailer we have for the RZR.
So I have to be “on my game” this season and actually do something other than just occupying the passenger seat in the truck.
I have a job!!!!

Our target date to leave is September 27th and at 8:30 and we did just that.
Bronco was her usual excited self and Chuck said she barked and whined about half the day.
She is making sure no one gets in his way.
We make it to Santa Rosa , NM. without any issues.
I should preface that and say the wind was terrible.
Played heck with our fuel mileage.
Lil Bit (the Jeep) didn’t enjoy the headwind at all but all in all the trip was good.
I didn’t take anyone or anything out with the trailer I am pulling so as far as I am concerned it’s a win!!!

We stopped on evening in Lordsburg, NM at a truck stop to spend the night.
I just had to share a picture that I took.
To my surprise Amazon is following us....LOL....I guess they know we do a lot of purchasing on their site and want to make sure they get our stuff to us on time.

We made it to our winter home on Sunday around 2pm.
Susie and Doris were outside and were trying to figure out who was messing with the gate at our house....LOL...they didn't recognize the Jeep!

Amazing to see how the plants and the house made it during the hot summer.
Chuck insisted on unloading as much of the trailer as we could this afternoon.
It was hot, but as always if you find shade the nice cool breeze is perfect!
We start the first day of October tomorrow so I will end my post here.
It was so nice to see our neighbors come out and wish us all greetings and welcome back to the hood.
It’s going to be a great season....I can feel it in my bones.
