September is the time we use to get ourselves ready to head south to Yuma.
On September 2nd we had a beautiful full rainbow to behold. Diana shared her picture from their house and it was a really nice one!
I decided to seal the flat trailer with another coat of sealer before we start loading it with items that need to go back to Yuma with us. We have a lot of parts we are taking back to the guy that bought our 5th wheel so I will get the trailer ready for the trip back.
The weather in Oklahoma is being really nice this season. We are actually getting some really nice days and evenings. The fall season is starting a little earlier than usual but we are happy to have it.
Looks like school is a mix of virtual and in class this year for Cooper. She had her first day back to the classroom and I think she was very happy to be back with her friends. Cash has been at his school working in a large classroom type are. He is able to do this as his mom is a teacher and he goes to the school she teaches at. Covid has sure made this school year a strange one!
Chuck has been working on the "C" and doing some upgrades. We now have a plexiglass door now. It really looks nice and I think we will enjoy it.....we loved the one on the Taj-Mah-Hauler!
September 16th we had visitors from Arizona. Bev and Ken came by and spent the night with us. We ate at Earls BBQ in Yukon. Hope they don't think we only eat BBQ as we took them to Swadley's the last time they were here :)
The same evening we had Bev and Ken at the house, Diana called me and said there had been a very large explosion out by their house. She sounded very scared and frantic. All I got out of her was that they grabbed the dogs and the family and got out of the house. She wasn't sure if their house was ok or not. Watching the news and following reports on FB I was able to see the outside lights of their house on the live feeds the news were doing. They have a generator and even though the electricity is out their whole house generator was working and they had lights! It was a great thing to see as far as I was concerned. Diana said she had talked to the Piedmont Fire Dept and they told her that their house was still standing. What a scary thing. The break in the underground gas line was probably less than 350 yards away.
I am having some dental work done before we head back to Arizona and it is slowing our departure down just a bit. Not sure that's a bad idea as the temperature is still over 100 there. I have a terror about dentist and am not looking forward to this at all, but I have to get some teeth extracted. I can now say that being totally knocked out to have this done is the way to go!
We will continue getting ready to head to Yuma and can't wait to get on the road. We will be pulling triple this year to get there so we are doing a lot of prep to make this trip flawless!!!! Stay tuned to next months blog to find out how it goes along the way!
