June 2020

Pandemic, mask, new normal, demonstrations, celebrations, Lake Texoma...
These are just a few words that relate to our June.

Yes the Pandemic is still alive and is spreading.
Yes we are asked to wear mask if we go out into crowds.
Yes as much as we don't like it, this just might be the "new normal", and I know so many of us hate that term.
Yes we are seeing demonstrations to let us remember that the equalities of the world we live in is not fair.
Yes we are celebrating our granddaughters 12th birthday.
Yes we celebrated Fathers Day with our family.
And yes, we actually got away from home for only a couple of days to go to the lake and spend some time with our friends Diana and Chris.

This is what our June looked like.







I will have to add that Chuck has been working like crazy to get the solar panels set up on the McClassC.
He has been up on the roof of the rig quite a bit.
There has been some new equipment added to the inside as well.











We now have a 1000 watt inverter tucked nicely away under the bathroom sink.
The control panel to remotely turn it off and on has also been installed.
We have the monitor placed in the rig as well that tells us how much solar power we have saved up and also will show us when it is collecting it.
Most of this was a repeat from what Chuck had done to our 5th wheel, but some of it is a bit different.
Due to the lithium batteries we purchased in Quartzsite in January some things had to be changed a bit.
I am not an expert on this "solar" stuff so I have no idea what he has had to do, but I have helped him pull wire to make the inverter work in its new location.
The "C" doesn't have as much space to tuck things away so it takes a little bit of brainstorming to find just the right spot for stuff.
With all this said and done I am believing we are going to be pretty self sufficient if and when we get to boondock once again.




Cooper, our sweet granddaughter is officially 12 yrs. old.
Not sure how this could happen so quickly but here we are!






















The birthday was a nice get together for both sides of the family.
We enjoyed spending the evening with everyone.












Now its Fathers Day and once again the social distancing rule is in play.
We ended up driving to Norman and hanging out with the kids.
So thankful to be able to take my sweet step dad down there as well to spend a little quality time away from home.

I wasn't able to get the guys to pose for the Fathers Day picture they usually get taken so this is the best I could do!









We finally got in touch with the lady at the lake to secure us a spot so we could make a trip down to see Diana and Chris's new boat.
It was fun driving there in McClass"C" as we hadn't been able to take a trip together in a while.
Bronco assumed her position and we were off for a few days.








Since we are only going to be gone for a couple of days we decided not to pull the Jeep with us.

We actually sat on the dock most of the afternoon and just chilled.
We cooked some dinner and before you knew it, it was time to get on the boat and go and watch the sunset.
If only the wind would calm down a bit, but it didn't stop us.

Bronco wasn't sure about her ride on the boat but as long as her daddy was there she was fine.
There was a floaty that had gotten away from someone and it was heading straight for us, so we thought.
About the time it got to the boat, a wind gust changed it direction and it floated past us like it knew where it was going.
I had no idea that Blake Shelton would actually drive by......not only did I spot him once, but actually ended up seeing him several times.
No he didn't wave or anything, but I had my eye on him!

We enjoyed a beautiful sunset with our best friends and headed back to shore for the evening.

Saturday and Sunday the wind is even worse.
On top of that we have the Saharan Dust Storm that the news had been talking about was officially in Oklahoma.
The skies were very hazy all day.
It was decided that the lake was just too choppy to get out and enjoy it.
This didn't bother us a bit as we really were just enjoying hanging around doing nothing.
Bronco has seemed to enjoy watching all the water craft go by as she assumes her position on the dock.
She has also been able to go and get in the water a bit.....she really seemed to enjoy that!




We cooked dinner on the dock once again and enjoyed steak and salmon.
Diana and Chris have been wonderful hosts and we really have enjoyed the little get away.
I am so in love with their new boat!!!!
Its their little "piece of heaven."

Sunday we pack up and are on the road by about 10am.
The wind is terrible and for once we are  actually going with it.
Made for a little easier trip home.
The weekend was short but very enjoyable.




Our Tailgater Dish network has been giving us issues at the house, so Chuck decides we need to troubleshoot it and see exactly what is going on.














I was out trying to get more cable for him and with the wind that was gusting very high, it toppled off the tripod it was on.
Of course, I had given it a little tug and yep, I now have broken it!
Looks like we will be either getting a new Dish once again or maybe swapping out some parts from our old one.
The Dish saga will continue into July!!!!
Oh the suspense.....ROFL

 Only other thing I wanted to report is that I have been going to the Chiropractor (Dr. Doyle) since May, and I can truly say that he has helped me so very much.
The road to this point of me saying that my back is better has been a bit bumpy but I am getting there.
I had no idea that an adjustment could make a person feel so badly.
I really thought I was crazy.
The first 3 weeks were really rough on my body.
Dr. Doyle has been using the "activator" on me and let me tell you one thing, I felt terrible when I would leave his office.
I would have to come home and basically sit around.
It wore me out....I was dizzy after the treatment and would ache.
I actually came home and got on the computer "Dr. Google" you know, and read that the side effects were totally normal.
The next time I went for an adjustment I even mentioned to Dr. Doyle my concerns about how I felt.
He assured me it was perfectly normal....mainly because I was so out off alignment.
All in all I think it has been money and time well spent as my back has been a wreck for quite a while.

The Evolution of June 2018

June has been a fairly warm month here in Oklahoma.
We have been lucky enough to get some good soaking rains and even a couple of days that were quite cool to help offset the heat.




June is our granddaughter Cooper's birthday.
We got to celebrate it in style with her.
She wanted to go to Cheesecake Factory for her big day, so we had a nice big table of family to celebrate her day.
In true fashion they sang "Happy Birthday" to her.
There really are no words to describe this young lady.
She is 10 yrs. old now, and acts like an adult.
What a beautiful sole she has.
We are so very proud of our Cooper.











Celebrating Father's Day this month also, we had the guys in our lives over to have a cook out.
So very blessed to have a great "second" dad.
Louie is a wonderful guy and sports the age of 92 quite well.
My husband is also a great guy in my life.
Appreciate his taking on my son Anthony at a young age and being such a positive influence in his growing up.
Then of course I have to mention my one and only Anthony.
What a great dad and family man you are.
So extremely proud of what you have become.
Happy Father's day guys.....I love you all very much.







Chuck, Bronco and I packed up and headed to Missouri for a couple of days.
We didn't take the Taj-Mah-Hauler as we had friends to stay with at their home.
Pat and Heika graciously invited us to come to Table Rock Lake and visit.
This was a short 5 hour drive to their place.
The drive there was really nice....and even Bronco seemed to calm down and ride well.












We got to see how Bronco acted in a boat.
She did quite well....until she saw a bridge.
Thought Pat was going to jump out of his skin when Bronco let out one of her piercing barks to let us all know that there was a bridge coming up....LOL
You have to stay alert with this dog..














We enjoyed the hospitality of Pat and Heiki.....and now they are going to have to come and visit us in Oklahoma.







We got home to the news that Jimmy and Terri Manhart were going to be in the area so we were going to have them out to the house and do some catching up on their travels.
It was a nice but short visit.
So short that I forgot to get a pic of them here....OOPS!
We had a great dinner at Swadley's and once again our friends seemed to like our choice of BBQ restaurants.
Wish we would have been able to spend more time with them, but they have family in Moore to keep them quite occupied.
Terri tells me they are camping in their new trailer at Thunderbird Lake and their son and his family would be joining them for the 4th of July holiday.
So glad they took time out to come and see us....and hope they do it again soon.


Other than that little trip we have been a bit dull and boring.
It has been very humid here and it just really seems to zap me quickly.
The grass is growing like crazy due to the rains....so that is keeping us on our toes mowing.
Ahhh, life in Oklahoma.




By the end of the month we had sold our lot in Arizona.
This is a bitter sweet sell.
I am so happy that someone else thinks our lot there in Florence is a nice second home.
Sad because we are leaving some very nice friends there.
I know we will stay in touch with them, but it just never is quite the same.
With the selling of the lot, we will be making a trip back to Florence to clean out our shed.
As of the end of June we have not figured out when, but I am sure knowing us, it will be fairly quickly.
The down payment for the lot has already been sent to us, and according to the park manager we will more than likely close on the property in September when they get back to open the park up.
Congrats to the new owners....hope they enjoy that little slice of heaven.
The Taj-Mah-Hauler will be in Arizona in the winter somewhere, we just aren't sure where yet!!!
